Asaro Coffee Table

Inspired by organic marine forms, the viewer circling around the table can see the illusion of movement as if the table were pulsating, caught by the rhythmic movement of the current. This design is the first in a series, conceptually based on the challenge of creating a visually soft volume from rigid sheet metal. Created with welded iron, the lamina elements radiate outward from the master ring at the top of the composition which supports a tempered glass top.
